Fantasy And Women Oh My....

picalttag

'FELAHEEN' by Jon Courtenay Grimwood. The assassination attempt using a poisonous snake could have come from anyone who had access to Emir Moncef. The viper bites his calf, but he survives because his twelve-year-old son witnessed the incident and screamed for help. His wife and his heir believe the obvious culprit is either a family member, an un-loyal servant, or another member of the inner retinue. However, an unrecognized son by a different woman Kashif Pasha believes the NR is behind the assault. Jon Courtenay Grimwood cleverly intertwines the key elements into this excellent entry. FELAHEEN makes three winners in a row.

'Captain Kirk's Guide to Women' by Bones Rodriguez. I was skeptical at first when I purchased this book, but after reading I was amazed at how entertaining and informative it was! I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a great book that has a lot of funny moments. This eBook certainly brought back all the memories of watching the show with a smile. I'm kind of a Trek fan, not really a Trekkie, and I don't know the show nearly as well as many of the people that will read this book. FELAHEEN eBook edition by Grimwood, Jon Courtenay
"Out of my way." Major Jalal jabbed his elbow into the kidney of one photographer and shouldered another into the gutter, watching as frozen slush filled the man's scruffy shoes. Ten paces at most separated the limo from the door of the casino but five photographers barred the way. Well, three now.

Not Too Many Good Reviews, But I Loved Them!

picalttag

'Shadow Dance' by Julie Garwood. I was afraid to read this book after Julie's last book, Slow Burn. I just didn't see how she could get any better...but she did! Shadow Dance entertained me, made me laugh, kept me in suspense, had great sexual tension and two of her most dynamic stand-out characters as well as quirky secondary characters. In other words, this book has it all!

'Darkest Evening Of The Year' by Dean Koontz. After reading several negative reviews, I was hesitant to read this book even though I am an avid Dean Koontz fan, and I enjoy even his lowest rated books by readers. This eBook is a nice, quick read starts a bit slow. It is evident from the beginning that this is not classic Koontz. If you a lover of suspense and thrillers but if you are loved by or give your love to a dog, then this is the book for you. With the loss of his Golden Retriever, Trixie, it seemed necessary to pay a tribute to her. Koontz true fans loved Trixie and her reviews of his books, as much as they love his books. Although this is not his normal suspense type writing, it is a meaningful story. Check below for the Coupon Code to use at checkout to receive a Discount on either of these two titles.

Absolutely wonderful, magical and captivating!

picalttag

'Knighthood Of The Dragon' by Chris Bunch. I am usually not a military fiction reader, but I did get hooked on this series from the first book, Dragonmaster. I devoured the first two books and can't wait to get the third. The military strategy was outstanding and throwing dragons into the mix made it more interesting. The characters are strongly built and very real. The effect of war on people and countries tweaks your compassion.

'Lady Of Avalon' by Marion Zimmer Bradley. The Lady of Avalon, as with all of the Avalon series eBooks, is a very captivating book! The writing is of a very high quality. Bradley's writings have kept me in suspense chapter to chapter and book to book. This eBook was great, I read Mist of Avalon a few years back, and wanted to get more of the World of Avalon. This eBook does that and I also read "Forest House" and I'm reading "Mists of Avalon" again to get the whole feel of the world. Be sure to use the Coupon Code below at checkout to receive a Discount on either of these two Titles.

Escape To A Place Far, Far, Away

picalttag

'The Dawn Star' by Catherine Asaro. After the lead up from the previous novel, I was looking for a culmination of the previous stories in this one. Although she did a great job in exposing the emotions felt by Cobalt and Mel, I feel like she fell short in completing these events - unless she has another novel planned. We never really hear about Mel's parents again and the other members of her family, except for a new look at Drummer, who hadn't been mentioned since the first novel. I can understand that this novel is mainly centered around the journey that Mel has to undergo, but it would have been interesting if the other mages that we had come to love through these stories made a final appearance in this novel. I enjoyed this story, but it just seemed anti-climatic in its ending.

'Cursor's Fury' by Jim Butcher. To me, Cursor's Fury by far is the best Butcher has written. Throughout the book clues are given as to the course of Tavi's life, but they are in no way spelled out for you. The book makes you think and keeps the plot turning. I will only read once and then never set eyes on again, but for a few special books I place on my shelves as keepers. Cursor's Fury by Jim Butcher has definitely earned a spot on my keeper shelf. Oh, I must clarify that I'm talking about my electronic Book shelf! Check below for the Coupon Code to receive a Discount on either of these two eBooks.

Familiar and Maybe Not so Familiar, but good...

picalttag

'Double Cross' by James Patterson. James Patterson does it again with the Cross series. This eBook has all the suspense that his books normally have but even more! Fans of the series will like this addition to the series. Over the years, Alex, Nana Mama, Sampson, Damon, Janie and Little Alex have become like family. This book does not disappoint. Buy this eBook. You won't be disappointed. Alex Cross at his best!

'Puff' by Bob Flaherty. Cheech and Chong of the literary world! I read this eBook in about 2 days and laughed through most of it. The portrayal of these two Catholic Boston boys was so funny and light-hearted even when faced with the death of their father and mother. This book is not going to win many awards or get much press beyond word of mouth (which, by the way, is how I found out about it), but it is worth picking up. Don't forget to use the Coupon Code Below to receive a Discount on either of these eBook Titles.

'Night Watch' by Terry Pratchett. One of Terry Pratchett's knacks (he has several) is the ability to take an essentially serious theme and mine it for countless funny bits, but never losing sight of the larger themes that lurk behind his wry tales. If you are a Discworld fan, you will enjoy this eBook. Moreover, if you are not a Discworld fan, what is keeping you?
'The Catswold Portal' by Shirley Rousseau Murphy. I found this eBook to be exceptionally original. As a reader of Sci-Fi Fantasy for over 25 years I can say that this one is a keeper.. (I have just finished it for a 3rd time) Murphy's descriptions allow the reader to have vivid pictures of the characters and the places. Catswold Portal is a wonderful eBook for both fantasy lovers and cat lovers alike. The main character is a female named Melissa with the power to change into a cat. As the story progresses, Melissa must work to face her fears, find her loves, and live her dreams. Get the Coupon Code below to receive a Discount on these two eBook Titles.

Extremely Liberal..Not Religious..Morally Centered..?

picalttag

'The Steep Approach to Garbadale' by Iain Banks. If you enjoy stories with characters that are gritty, earthy, extremely liberal and not religious or morally centered, you may like this book. This book has not been reviewed too kindly, but I actually enjoyed it a lot. Interlaced with the business stuff is the family stuff, notably Alban's obsession with his cousin Sophie. Yes, it is a little like a soap, but I found it quite fascinating. The family story is told through narrative that jumps backwards and forwards in time. The Time-Jumping can be a little annoying at times with other books I have read but this one did not seem to bother me. I didn't find it obtrusive or confusing. Well done Mr. Banks!
'Once Bitten, Twice Shy' by Jennifer Rardin. I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this novel. Rardin ads a perfect blend of humor and humility to an otherwise strong female lead character. I can't believe that this is her debut novel. With a seemingly over-abundance of vampire novels, I found this as a fun, light-hearted, supernatural, spy novel. Be sure to check below to receive your Discount Code for these two eBooks.

Bingeley-bingeley boo!

picalttag

"Jingo" is a good light reading, with some serious insights about human behavior mixed in. Once again Terry Pratchett mirrors the irreverence of our own world with this charming little novel concerning a war between a very western Ankh-Morpork and a very middle-eastern Klatch. I must admit I am a sucker for the Witches of Lancre stories and "Carpe Jugulum" is a spiritual journey for the doubting Oats that explores faith, religion and the nature of Good. Both these Pratchett eBooks are a must read! Look below for your coupon this week on these two titles.

Jingo eBook edition by Pratchett, Terry
It isn't much of an island that rises up one moonless night from the depths of the Circle Sea -- just a few square miles of silt and some old ruins. Unfortunately, the historically disputed lump of land called Leshp is once again floating directly between Ankh-Morpork and the city of Al-Khali on the coast of Klatch -- which is spark enough to ignite that glorious internationalpastime called "war." Pressed into patriotic service, Commander Sam Vimes thinks he should be leading his loyal watchmen, female watchdwarf, and lady werewolf into battle against local malefactors rather than against uncomfortably well-armed strangers in the Klatchian desert. But war is, after all, simply the greatest of all crimes -- and it's Sir Samuel's sworn duty to seek out criminal masterminds wherever they may be hiding ... and lock them away before they can do any real damage. Even the ones on his own side.

Only an uneasy alliance between a nervous young priest and the argumentative local witches can save the country from being taken over by people with a cultivated bloodlust and bad taste in silk waistcoats. For them, there's only one way to fight. Go for the throat, or as the vampyres themselves say...Carpe Jugulum
